STEP-UK Adult Level Check 30-Minute Online CEFR Placement Test The STEP-UK Adult Level Check is a short online placement test designed to provide an estimated CEFR level (A1–C1) in just 30 minutes. This test is ideal for learners, training providers, and organisations who need a quick and reliable indication of English proficiency for placement purposes. ⸻ What the Test Includes The Level Check assesses core language ability through: • Grammar & Vocabulary • Reading • Listening All questions are objective and automatically scored. There is no writing or speaking section. Total duration: 30 minutes Total questions: 34 Global timer only. ⸻ How Results Are Presented At the end of the test, candidates receive: Your Indicative Level: [CEFR Level] – [Band Description] Levels range from: • A1 – Beginner • A2 – Elementary • B1 – Intermediate • B2 – Upper-Intermediate • C1 – Advanced The result provides a percentage score and an estimated CEFR level. ⸻ Important Notice The STEP-UK Adult Level Check: • Is a diagnostic placement tool • Does not issue a certificate • Cannot be used for employment, immigration, visa, or academic admission purposes • Does not replace a formally assessed English proficiency examination For a verified result with detailed reporting, candidates should take the STEP-UK Adult Standard Test.

Cancellation Policy
Booking Policy: All bookings must be completed using your correct full name and email address. Your test link will be emailed to you before your scheduled session. You are responsible for ensuring you have a stable internet connection, a working webcam and microphone, and a quiet environment suitable for testing. Profile Photo Requirement: All test takers must upload a clear profile photo to their STEP UK account before the test. This photo is used solely for identification and test security during the session. Bookings without a profile photo may be delayed or refused. Cancellations & Rescheduling: You may cancel or reschedule your booking up to 24 hours before your test time. After this period, changes are not permitted. If you miss your session, arrive too late to begin, or are unable to complete the test due to personal or technical issues (including internet failure, device problems, or unsuitable environment), the booking is considered used, and a new test must be purchased. No-Show Policy: Failure to attend your scheduled test, or joining more than 10 minutes after the start time, will be recorded as a no-show. No refunds or rescheduling are available for missed sessions. Refunds: All test purchases are non-refundable once confirmed. Please ensure you understand all requirements before booking. If STEP UK must cancel or postpone a test for any reason, you will be offered a free reschedule. Test Access & Certificate: You will receive your test link by email before your test. Certificates are issued only to customers who purchase the Test + Certificate Bundle. Certificates are for personal assessment only and are not suitable for immigration or official visa purposes. Waitlist Policy: If a test slot is full, you may join the waitlist. You will be notified automatically if a space becomes available. Places are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are not guaranteed. Important Notes: By booking a test, you agree to follow all STEP UK test rules, including camera usage and academic honesty. STEP UK reserves the right to update this policy at any time.
